The most challenging and scenic route to Observation Point is a four-mile, one-way hike that starts at Weeping Rock (shuttle stop 7) on the floor of Zion. We WILL refund or reschedule if weather conditions prohibit participation in your scheduled activity. The route is 7 miles from trailhead to summit using the East Mesa Trail with 200 of elevation gain. This option will require 4 to 6 hours for a round trip. The route is 8 miles from trailhead to summit using the classic Weeping Rock Trailhead and contains 2000 of elevation gain. Please note that by reserving your space we have turned away other clients and this cancellation policy protects the resort from monetary loss. Observation Point is a great hike that contains no obstacles. There is no interference or manipulation of the research subjects, and no control and treatment groups. Reservations / Cancellations: We do encourage you to make a reservation in order to guarantee space for you and your group on Zion Ponderosa recreation adventures. The view from Observation Point is absolutely the best in the park and the reason this is one of the top hikes in Zion. An observational study is used to answer a research question based purely on what the researcher observes. Canyoneering is available from March to November each year - weather permitting. This includes ATV tours, horseback rides, Jeep tours, and paintball. Time to Complete the Trail: Approximately 4 to 6 hours is. Access Point: The trail begins at the Weeping Rock trailhead take a shuttle at Zion’s main Canyon to reach the trailhead. Rating: It is considered to be a moderately tough day hike. Please Note: Most recreation activities are weather-dependant and, therefore, may not be available during wet time-frames and/or cold months.
